Among the Manuscripts and Missals are, Le Mireur du Monde, in 2 vol.; a beatiful and elegantly written Manuscript, on vellum, with Twenty-three large and exquisite Miniature Paintings, with elegant borders, &c.; Liber Precum, A Book of Prayers, executed about 1430, for King Charles VII, with very many beautiful large Miniatures by the same hand as the famous Bedford Missal; every page is also tastefully decorated with illuminated borders. The whole executed in the highest perfection of Art, and is in the finest possible preservation. The entire Library is in the choicest Condition; and many of the Books are bound by Lewis, Hering, and other eminent binders, in morocco and russia. CONDITIONS OF SALE. [vignette] / I. The highest Bidder to be the Buyer; and if any Dispute arise between Bidders, the Lot so disputed shall be immediately put up again. / II. No Person to advance less than 6d.; above Ten Shillings, 1s.; above Five Pounds, 2s. 6d.; and so in Proportion. / III. The Purchasers to give in their Names and Places of Abode, and to pay down 5s. in the Pound, if required, in Part of Payment of the Purchase-money; in Default of which, the Lot or Lots purchased to be immediately put up again and re-sold. / IV. The Lots to be taken away, at the Buyer's Expence, after the Conclusion of the Sale, and the Purchase-Money to be paid on or before Delivery; in default of which, Messrs. Sotheby & Son will not hold themselves responsible if lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise destroyed, but they will be left at the sole risk of the Purchaser. / V. The Books are presumed to be perfect, unless otherwise expressed; but if upon collating, at the place of Sale, any should prove defective, the Purchaser will be at Liberty to take or reject them, except Magazines, Reviews, &c. which are sold with all faults. / VI. The Sale of any Book or Books is not to be set aside on account of any Stained or Short Leaves. / VII. In this Cabinet will be found, the celebrated Petition Crown, in fine condition; / Ramage's Shilling and Sixpence; / the famous Oxford Crown, having the City of Oxford under the Horse; / Hardicanute, Alfred, and other fine Saxon Pennies, &c. &c. The Property of A COLLECTOR. / A Rare and Valuable Collection of ENGRAVINGS by all the great Masters of the Continental Schools, particularly of the Italian and German, comprising some of the finest and most rare productions of Marc Antonio (including the Adam and Eve), Augustino Veneziano, Giulio Bonasoni, the Ghisi, &c. &c. Martin Schön, Albert Durer, Lucas Van Leyden, Goltzius, &c. &c. nearly the entire Engrave Works of Raphael, Michael Angelo, Titian, and Correggio. / A matchless and perhaps unique Collection of the Works of all the eminent Artists of the British School, consisting chiefly of Proofs before the Letters, such as have never yet been submitted to public sale. / A few Choice and Original Pictures by the Academicians Stothard, Fuseli, Thomson, Cooper, and Harlow. / A beautiful Selection of Choice and Original Drawings, by Thomas Stothard, R.A. / A Collection of ancient Armour and Weapons Bronzes, Medals, Enamels, and Models; a few very fine Plaster Casts, &c. &c. To which will also be added the elegant and choice-made Cabinets. / Catalogues are preparing, and due notice will be given of the Days of-Sale. / Rare and Curious Portraits. / A very curious Collections of Rare PORTRAITS, &c.
