Archdeacon of Middlesex, and Canon of Windsor: CONSISTING OF A Choice Collection of useful and valuable Books, in Sacred Philology, Lexicons, Classics, and the best Modern Writers in Divinity, &c. with a Compleat Collection of the Benedictine Editions of the Fathers. Also above One Hundred Volumes of Pamphlets in all Sciences. Many of the Books are much improved by the Curious MSS Remarks which the Doctor has made in the Perusal. All which will be Sold by Auction at St. Paul's Coffee-House, on Monday, February 22d, 1741-2, and the Nine following Evenings, beginning exactly at Six o' Clock. The Books may be viewed three Days before the Sale. Catalogues may be had of Mr. Strahan, in Cornhill; Mr. Noon, in Cheapside; Mr. Manby, Ludgate-Street; Mr. Millar, over-against St. Clement's Church; Mr. Lewis, near Covent-Garden; Mr. Stagg, in Westminster-Hall; Mr. Dodsley, Pall-Mall; Mr. Thurlbourn, at Cambridge; Mr. Fletcher, in the Turl, Oxford; Mr. Pote, at Eton, and at the Place of SALE.

THE following Collection is the entire Library of the late Rev. Dr. Waterland, excepting some few Books, which being at Cambridge, were presented to Magdalen College. / Nothing is added to or diminished from this Collection; and besides those expressed in the Catalogue, many useful Observations will be found in several of the Books and Pamphlets, which the Doctor's great Learning and Knowledge enabled him to add, as Helps to himself in his Studies, and without doubt, will be found no less to deserve the Attention of the Learned in general. / As the present Impression of Dr. Cave's Historia Literaria, was published under the immediate Care and Direction of Dr. Waterland, I cannot omit this Opportuity of acquainting the Publick, that the Second Volume is regularly carrying on, without any Delay, and now far advanced in the Press; and will be finished with all possible Diligence and Dispatch; that the Notes and References greatly increase in this Second Volume, and are the principal Cause that it cannot be published this Winter, as was intended; in the mean time, the First Volume is ready to be delivered to the Subscribers, according to the Proposals; and Gentlemen may be assured no Pains will be spared, nor Time lost, in forwarding the Publication of this Second Volume also, with the strictest Justice both to the Author and the Publick. / Eton, Feb. 1, 1741. The Subscriber's Names will be printed on finishing the Second Volume, and those Gentlemen that now subscribe, will have the First Volume delivered to them, according to the Proposals. / <%%><><%%> Conditions of SALE. I. The highest Bidder is the Buyer, but of any Dispute arise, the Book or Books to be put up again. / II. That no Person advance less than Two-pence in an Octavo, and Three-Pence in each Quarto, or Folio. Nor less than Six-pence, after a Book arises to 10s. And 1s. after a Book comes to a Pound. / III. That each Person give in his Name, and pay 5s. in the Pound (if demanded) for what he buys, and that no Book be delivered in Time of Sale, without being then paid for. / IV. The Books are believed to be perfect, but if any appear otherwise, the Buyer is at his Choice to take or leave them. / V. The Books must be fetched away at the Buyer's Charge, and the Money paid at the Place of Sale, within two Days after the Sale is ended. / Any Gentlemen, who cannot attend the Sale, may have their Commissions faithfully executed by their Humble Servants, Joseph Pote, or, Jacob Robinson, Auctioneer. / N.
