A CATALOGUE Of the MOST ELEGANT LIBRARY OF Edward Stanley, Esq; Secretary to the Customs: To which is added, The valuable LIBRARY of another GENTLEMAN; THE WHOLE CONTAINING A very fine Collection of Books in Classics, History, Divinity, &c. in the finest Preservation, and in the most elegant Bindings; With some BOOKS of PRINTS: Which will be sold by Auction, By S. BAKER and G. LEIGH, BOOKSELLERS, At their House in York-street, Covent Garden, Beginning Monday, February the 12th, 1776, and to continue the Eight following Days, Beginning each Day at Twelve o'Clock. The whole may be viewed on Monday, February the 5th, to the Time of Sale. Catalogues to be had (GRATIS) of the following Booksellers; Mr. Dodsley's, Pall Mall; Mr. Robson's, Bond Street; Mr. Walter's, Charing Cross; Mr. Edwards', Cockspur Street, Charing Cross; Mr. Sewel's, Cornhill; Mr. Owen's, Temple Bar; and at the Place of Sale.

CONDITIONS of SALE. 1st, THAT the Person who bids most is the Buyer; but if any Dispute arises, the Book or Books be put up to Sale again. / 2d, That no Person advance less than Three-pence each Bidding; after Five Shillings Six pence; and after the Book arises to One Pound, no less than One Shilling. / 3d, They are supposed to be perfect; but if any should be found otherwise before taken away, the Buyer is at his Choice to take or leave them, as no Book is to be returned after Delivery. / 4th, That each Person give in his Name, and pay Five Shillings in the Pound (if demanded) for what he buys; and that no Book be delivered in Time of selling, unless first paid for. / 5th, The Lots must be taken away at the Buyer's Expence, and the Money paid at the Place of Sale, within three Days after the Sale is ended. / Any Noblemen or Gentlemen who cannot attend the Sale, may have their Commissions faithfully executed, By their most humble Servants, S.
